Cosmetic Dentistry

Cosmetic dentistry can range from simple treatments such as teeth whitening, to full mouth rehabilitation. Penwortham Dental is proud to offer patients advanced cosmetic treatments and will ensure you receive the highest standard of care before and after your individual treatment.

Treatments include:

  • Dental implants
  • Fitting bridges, crowns, and veneers
  • Fitting partial and complete dentures
  • Treating teeth which have been worn down by bruxism (tooth grinding)
  • Partial and full mouth reconstruction

At Penwortham Dental, the dentist will carry out a thorough examination of your mouth and teeth to determine what dental work is required. They rely on a selection of design elements to create the most functional and attractive look possible, these include:

  • Smile Line: this is an imaginary line which connects the biting edges of your top teeth and aligns to the curve of your lower lip
  • Gum Line: ideally, when you smile only small triangle of gum tissue should be visible. The gum line follows the shape of your upper lip and creates a frame for your teeth
  • Horizontal Smile Line: this is where imaginary horizontal lines connect the eyes and canine teeth. The most pleasing result occurs when these lines are parallel
  • Vertical Symmetry: this refers to the imaginary line that divides the upper and lower sections of your mouth. Where teeth differ in shape and size, this can affect your vertical symmetry.
  • Tooth Proportion: this focuses on the ideal tooth height to width ratio
  • Embrasure: referring to the triangular spaces between the tips of your teeth.
  • Golden Triangle: one of the more complex design elements, this is the starting point for smile reconstruction. It refers to the amount of tooth which is visible when you smile and has specific proportions.
